Ravi Subramanian’s Latest Book is a Children’s Mystery Novel

Bestselling author Ravi Subramanian’s latest book, The Mystery of the School on Fire is a children’s detective novel. In a tweet this morning, Ravi said that the book is the first in the SMS Detective Agency series. While crimes and thrillers might be a staple for the Indian readership, not a lot is available in the genre. Ravi’s new novel might just change the trend.

The Mystery of the School on Fire, published by HarperCollins India, is a children’s detective novel set in the hilly town of Solan. The Super Mystery Solvers (SMS) Detective Agency, comprises of three nine-years-old friends, Aditya and Akriti -twins, and Kabir. And as the name itself suggests, the first installment of the series is a mystery about their school catching fire. Launched on October 23, the book is already on the Amazon Bestseller list for children’s thrillers. The Mystery of the School on Fire also includes illustrations by Ayeshe Sadr & Ishaan Dasgupta of the 211 Studio.

Ravi Subramanian is an award-winning author, renowned for his crime thrillers capturing the banking industry. He is a four-time winner of the prestigious Economist Crossword Book Award, winning it for three consecutive years. He has also won the Best of Leadership Writing and Indiaplaza Golden Quill Book Award. Still working as a banker, Ravi is the CEO of Shriram Housing Finance Ltd, a listed NBFC. He has previously worked with leading financial institutions including Citibank, HSBC, and ANZ Grindlays.
