Leading Indian book publishing house, Rupa Publications, announced today that has published a book on the 26/11 Mumbai Attacks. The book, 26/11 Braveheart, is written by ex-marine commando Praveen Kumar Teotia and will be up for sale from November 10.
The book is a minute-by-minute account of the dreadful night of 26th November 2008, when a bunch of terrorists attacked different parts of South Mumbai, including the CST Railway Station, Leopold Café, and the Oberoi Trident Hotel. However, the deadliest attack ensued in the Taj Mahal Palace hotel. Praveen was on duty on the dreadful night and took up the task of rescuing hostages and neutralizing the terrorists inside the iconic hotel.
The horrific attacks claimed at least 174 lives, leaving over 300 wounded. In the line of duty, Praveen received multiple bullet injuries, puncturing his lungs and damaging his left ear. Subsequently, he was awarded the Shaurya Chakra for his heroic efforts. The book 26/11 Braveheart is a narration from Praveen’s eyes of 21st century India’s most horrific terror attacks.
In a tweet following the announcement, Praveen said he was waiting for the moment for 12 years. He says that his book will allow the readers to understand the crucial role the Marine Commandos played in terror attacks.
Praveen Teotia is now an international Marathon, Triathlon, and Ironman athlete, and has traveled around the world for multiple sporting events. His story from being an injured soldier who, according to doctors, could never run or swim, to being multiple marathons and Ironman runner is already a thing of the legends. The ex-MARCOS’s grit, determination, and never-backdown attitude is a great source of inspiration for the generations to come.
